A New Day Dawns for a Village in Uganda

December 1st, 2023.

Salam Alaikum Warahmatullah,

Alhamdulillah, the people of Alivu village and neighboring communities in Uganda celebrated the inauguration of the Masjid Al-Quddus on December 1, 2023.

Under the shade of a. tree, a place that served as a musalla for many years, the community g

athered to express their happiness for the dawn of this new day in their community.

Sulaiman Alumere, the lead imam, in his speech captured the great emotions of the community as they transitioned from congregating under a tree to now gathering beneath a brand-new roof surrounded by sturdy walls, glass doors, and windows. A dream of several generations had finally come true, thanks to the partnership between an Ihsan donor and the local jam’aa.

Most of the people got the great privilege to experience jumu’a in a masjid for the first time.

They made many du’as.

As part of Ihsan’s feed the hungry program, food was also served.

The community which was facing the threat of "extinction" can now dream of ways to preserve tawheed, especially through a Quran school.

We at Ihsan thank the sponsor of this project and all of you for enabling us to serve a community in Uganda in this unique and blessed way.
